Tour Description

Take the chance to admire the two musts in Rome, the Vatican Museums just before the general public and the amazing Colosseum with Ancient Rome

A fully licensed and enthusiastic expert guide will lead your Small Group of max 20 people through this “must see” itinerary. In your short time in Rome you will have the chance to enter both the Vatican and the Colosseum with skip the line admissions and to access some restricted areas such as the Arena of the Colosseum, the icon of Rome. This is the best option to maximize your short time in the Eternal City.

Accompanied by a fully licensed guide, enter the Vatican before its doors open to the general public, with your skip-the-line tickets . Walk through the Vatican galleries your guide that will explain everything you want to know about the Vatican state, then reach the Sistine Chapel, where you will have the once-in-a-lifetime chance to admire his stunning ceiling and “the Last Judgement” Michelangelo’s breathtaking masterpiece. Your guide will explain how this fresco was painted and the profound meaning hidden in it. The Vatican tour will finish in St. Peter’s Basilica, where you will get through a special passage from the Sistine Chapel.

After the Vatican tour you will get to the Colosseum – please note that you will need to make your own way from the Vatican to the Colosseum-. Since you can choose the time, if you have the early Vatican option (7.30am) then you will enter the Colosseum at 1pm, whereas, if you choose the other option, that is to say the Vatican a 8.30 or 9, then your Colosseum tour will start at 3.15pm in summer and at about 1 pm in winter.

After a short break to refresh and have a quick lunch, you will meet our guide at our office located in via Frangipane 30, near the Colosseum. From there you will take a short walk and by choosing the arena access option, you will enter the Colosseum directly from the gladiator’s gate with our skip the line tickets.

Your small group tour will continue with a fascinating exploration of Ancient Rome. Again you will be led by an expert licensed guide as you visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. You will follow in the footsteps of the Gladiators as you enter the Colosseum through the entrance the Gladiators used.

This entrance is a special reservation and will lead you out directly on the Colosseum’s arena (usually closed off to the general public.) From here you will visit also the main areas of the Colosseum and your guide will tell you about a lot of historical anecdotes. You will continue to learn about life in everyday Rome as you visit the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill together with your guide and group.
