The Pastificio Cerere Foundation was founded in Rome in 2004 by its president, Flavio Misciattelli, with the aim of promoting and disseminating contemporary art.

In 2005 it inaugurated its headquarters inside what was once the Pastificio Cerere, a former pasta factory built in 1905 and active until after World War II. Starting in the 1970s, the disused factory was spontaneously repopulated by artists, who decided to set up their studios there: places to inhabit in order to experience daily experimentation. Over the years, critics, intellectuals and members of the entertainment world have also gravitated to this forge, which has become a point of reference for culture in general.

In 2002, the idea of providing the Pastificio Cerere with an exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art and always open to the public was born from the ‘Interno F.M.’ exhibition. Thus in 2005, the Pastificio Cerere Foundation was founded and with the exhibition RESIDENTI inaugurated its premises inside the building.

Still today, the spaces of the former industrial plant host artist studios, fashion ateliers, graphic and communication studios, a photography school and a visual arts academy.

Among the ateliers present are: Myriam B, Ottavio Celestino, Giovanni De Cataldo, Ileana Florescu, Rossella Fumasoni, Roberta Mariani, Meletios Meletiou, Michele Melotta, Nunzio, Leonardo Petrucci, Piero Pizzi Cannella, Pietro Ruffo, Andrea Stoger, Marco Tirelli, Alessandro Valeri.
