Tour Description

Discover the life of early Christians in Rome and explore two of the most relevant places of the Eternal City which are symbol of Christianity.

The first part of the tour will keep a focus on the life of St. Peter and Paul, who visited Rome several times throughout their life. Gain access to the Mamertine prison, the most ancient jail of the Rome, located next the Roman Forum.  Both St. Peter and St. Paul were kept prisoners there before their death under Emperor Nero’s reign.

You will explore Mamertine prison with tickets and audio guide at ayour own pace.

Next, take our comfortable shared vehicle led by our professional English speaking driver who will safely escort you to the next stop: Roman Catacombs.

Christian catacombs are real underground cemeteries built between the 2nd and 3rd century A.D. They were used to preserve and remember the members of the christian community who were no longer alive. Most of them are located on the Appian Way, one of the most important road built by romans.

You will discover Roman catacombs in a small group with a local catacombs guide.
