Tour Description

Our Trastevere and Jewish District Private Tour in Rome is something unique. Discover an off-the-beaten-track tour of Rome, mix up with locals in the picturesque district of Trastevere and explore the Jewish Quarter known as “ghetto”. By booking this tour, you will also get a private licensed guide walking with you through some of the most peculiar spots in Rome.

Your 3 hour tour will start meeting your private guide in Trastevere, that is definitely one of the most popular areas of Rome, with its narrow cobblestone alleys, restaurants, pubs and artisan shops. When you think about Rome, you probably imagine Trastevere. This is the best place to have a taste of the real Rome. In Trastevere you will also enter the Basilica of St. Mary in Trastevere, which is one of the most beautiful churches around Rome, located in a little but really nice square in the very core of this quarter. Still in Trastevere, you will also get the chance to stop for a break and taste some local “focaccia”, which is halfway between crispy pizza and bread…It is really difficult to describe it, you really should taste on your own. It is simply delicious, we can guarantee you won’t regret it, you will be actually asking for more!
Once your belly will be full, you will have enough energy to enjoy a small walk to the Tiberina Island, right in the middle of Tiber river. Right after, you will jump back into Ancient Rome by having a look at the archeological sites of Ottavia Porticus and Marcellus Theater from the outside.
Finally your private guide will take you to visit the Jewish district in Rome, the so-called “Ghetto”. With your private knowledgeable and passionate guide you will understand the huge impact that the Jewish community has had on Rome’s cultural identity, from the architecture to food traditions! You will even have the opportunity to taste some great cheese and wines (tastings not included in the price).

Don’t forget this is a private tour, which means you will be more than welcome to customize it according to your interest and need. Also don’t be shy to ask your guide as much questions as come to your mind, they are there for you and will be glad to satisfy all your curiosities.

Beauty, food and fun: this tour has it all. So we heartily recommend you to book our Trastevere and Jewish District Private Tour in Rome. All you need to do is call us or send us an e-mail and we will be delighted to arrange it for you!
